In the heart of the Normandy landing beaches, the American cemetery of Colleville sur Mer overlooks Omaha Beach.
Unmissable during your visit to the Normandy beaches, it brings together the graves of 9,387 fallen soldiers, the chapel, the memorial and the garden of the missing.

Great moment of emotion: the ceremony of colors every day at 4.15 p.m. (from 09/16 to 04/14) or at 5.15 p.m. (from 04/15 to 09/15). You can then witness the descent and folding of the American flag to the sound of a military hymn.

The visitor center pays tribute to these soldiers and their courage in carrying out Operation Overlord and bringing about the liberation of Europe. Access to the center is free.

Between Omaha Beach and Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc is one of the unmissable places to visit on the D-Day beaches in Normandy.
Strategic point of the Atlantic Wall, the site of the Pointe du Hoc was stormed on the morning of June 6, the DDay, by the Rangers of Colonel Rudder. It was one of the most difficult battles of the landing: in the end, out of the 225 Rangers, only 90 of them were still in a condition to continue liberation.

Today, the scars of the battle are still visible. During your visit, you can discover what an artillery battery was with its fire direction post, its casemates, its shelters ... Information panels on site.

Located on the landing beaches, between Arromanches and Port en Bessin, the German Battery of Longues sur Mer is a major work of the Atlantic Wall.
This German coastal defense battery includes a firing command post and four casemates each housing their original 150mm guns.

In the heart of the Allied assault sector and at the top of a cliff overlooking the English Channel, it played a strategic role during the Landing of the Allied forces on June 6, 1944.
